The Energy Act 2004 (Commencement No. 8) Order 2007

The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 198(2) of the Energy Act 2004(1):
Citation
1. This Order may be cited as the Energy Act 2004 (Commencement No. 8) Order 2007.
Commencement
2. The following provisions shall come into force on 6th April 2007—
(a)section 182 of the Energy Act 2004; and
(b)paragraph 7 of Schedule 16 to that Act.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order brings into force on 6th April 2007 section 182 of, and paragraph 7 of Schedule 16 to, the Energy Act 2004. Section 182 inserts paragraph 5A into Schedule 8 to the Electricity Act 1989 (c.29), making provision for the appointment of additional inspectors for the purposes of inquiries held by virtue of that Schedule. Paragraph 7 of Schedule 16 makes provision for the appointment of additional inspectors for the purposes of inquiries in England and Wales held under that Schedule (in relation to applications for the declaration of safety zones). The remaining provisions of the Energy Act 2004 will be brought into force by subsequent orders.
