These Regulations amend the Road Vehicles (Registration and Licensing) Regulations 2002 to increase the fees payable in respect of first registration and the replacement of a registration document.
The Regulations provide that on 1st May 2007—
(a)the first registration fee increases from £38 to £50 (an increase of 31.6%) (regulation 3); and
(b)the fee for a new registration document increases from £19 to £25 (an increase of 31.6%) (regulation 4).
A full regulatory impact assessment of the effect that these Regulations will have on the costs of business and the voluntary sector is available from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency, Finance Group, Longview Road, Morriston, Swansea SA6 7JL and is annexed to the Explanatory Memorandum which is available alongside the Regulations on the OPSI website, www.opsi.gov.uk. A copy of the assessment has also been placed in the library of each House of Parliament.
