The Secretary of State for Education and Skills makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 44 of the Education Act 2002 (1):
1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Consistent Financial Reporting (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2006 and shall come into force on 1st April 2006.
(2) These Regulations apply only in relation to England.
2. For regulation 5 of the Consistent Financial Reporting (England) Regulations 2003(2) substitute:
“5. The local education authority shall provide the Secretary of State with any financial statement provided to them in accordance regulation 3 by the third Friday in the July following the financial year in respect of which the statement is made.”

These Regulations substitute a new regulation 5 of the Consistent Financial Reporting (England) Regulations 2003 which prescribes the date by which the local education authority must provide the Secretary of State with their governing bodies' financial statements. This date is changed from the 22 August to the third Friday in July.
2002 c. 32; see section 212 for the definition of “regulations”. By virtue of that definition these regulations made by the Secretary of State apply to England only.
