The M56 Motorway (Hapsford to Lea-by-Backford Section) and Connecting Roads Scheme 1976 (Partial Revocation) Scheme 2006

The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Scheme in exercise of powers conferred by sections 16, 17, 19 and 326 of the Highways Act 1980(1) and now vested in him(2) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf:

1.  This Scheme may be cited as the M56 Motorway (Hapsford to Lea-by-Backford Section) and Connecting Roads Scheme 1976 (Partial Revocation) Scheme 2006 and shall come into force on 1st September 2006.

2.  The M56 Motorway (Hapsford to Lea-by-Backford Section) and Connecting Roads Scheme 1976 is hereby partially revoked. The length of motorway to be revoked is set out in the schedule to this Scheme and is shown by a heavy black line on the deposited plan.

3.  In this Scheme—

(a)All measurements of distance are measured along the route of the relevant highway;

(b)(i)“the M56” means the M56 Motorway

(ii)“the plan” means the plan folio numbered HA 10/MP/066 marked “The M56 Motorway (Hapsford to Lea-by-Backford Section) and Connecting Roads Scheme 1976 (Partial Revocation) Scheme 2006” signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Transport and deposited at the offices of the Highways Agency, City Tower, Piccadilly Plaza, Piccadilly, Manchester, M1 4BE.

SCHEDULEROUTE OF THE MOTORWAY TO BE REVOKED

The length of the westbound carriageway of the M56 Motorway from the roundabout at Dunkirk, M56 Junction 16, for 235 metres in an easterly direction, and is shown by a heavy black line on a plan numbered HA 10/MP/066 marked “The M56 Motorway (Hapsford to Lea-by-Backford Section) and Connecting Roads Scheme 1976 (Partial Revocation) Scheme 2006”.
