PUBLIC PASSENGER TRANSPORT
The Transport Act 2000 (Commencement No. 12) Order 2006

The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 275(1) of the Transport Act 2000(1):
Citation and interpretation
1. This Order may be cited as the Transport Act 2000 (Commencement No. 12) Order 2006.
Provisions coming into force on 1 October 2006
2. Section 248 the Transport Act 2000(2) shall come into force on 1st October 2006.

Explanatory Note
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order brings into force section 248 of the Transport Act 2000 which requires operators of railway passenger services, so far as is reasonably practicable, to ensure that any substitute road services allow disabled passengers to travel safely and in reasonable comfort.
