Her Majesty, in pursuance of section 87 of the Post Office Act 1969(1), is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:
1. This Order may be cited as the Postal Services (Jersey) Order 2006 and shall come into force on 20th July 2006.
2. The Postal Services (Jersey) Order 1969(2) is revoked.
3. The following Orders are revoked in so far as they extend to the Bailiwick of Jersey—
(a)the Postal Services (Channel Islands Consequential Provisions) Order 1969(3);
(b)the Postal Services (Isle of Man Consequential Provisions) Order 1973(4).

This Order revokes the Postal Services (Jersey) Order 1969, and revokes the Postal Services (Channel Islands Consequential Provisions) Order 1969 and the Postal Services (Isle of Man Consequential Provisions) Order 1973 in so far as they extend to Jersey.
Those Orders amended certain provisions of the Post Office Act 1953 (c. 36) and the Post Office Act 1969 (c. 48) in their application to the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man in respect of the administration of postal services. These revocations are necessary following the enactment of the Postal Services (Jersey) Law 2004, which makes provision for the administration of postal services in Jersey.
