The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 66(6A) of the Police and Criminal Evidence (Northern Ireland) Order 1989(1):
S.I. 1989/1341 (N.I. 12). Article 66(6A) was inserted by section 43 of the Police (Northern Ireland) Act 2003 (c. 6). Article 66(6A) enables the Secretary of State by order to provide that a code of practice shall have effect with modifications provided that the order complies with Article 66(6B). Article 66(6B)(a) requires the effect of the modification to be limited to a period of no more than 2 years.
