Citation, commencement, extent and interpretation1

These Regulations may be cited as the Employment Equality (Sex Discrimination) Regulations 2005 and shall come into force on 1st October 2005.

These Regulations do not extend to Northern Ireland.

The repeal made by regulation 20(2) does not extend to the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands.

In these Regulations “the 1975 Act” means the Sex Discrimination Act 19753 and “the 1970 Act” means the Equal Pay Act 19704.
