The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 86(10) and (12) of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999(1), hereby makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Immigration Services Commissioner (Designated Professional Body) (Fee) Order 2004 and shall come into force on 7th April 2004.
2. In this Order —
“the Act” means the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999;
“Commissioner” means the Immigration Services Commissioner appointed under section 83(2) of the Act; and
“designated professional body” has the same meaning as in section 86(1) of the Act.
3. The fee to be paid to the Commissioner by each designated professional body for the year 1st April 2003 to 31st March 2004 shall be the sum specified in the Schedule to this Order. The fee shall be paid on or before 14th April 2004.

This Order specifies the fee to be paid by the designated professional bodies to the Immigration Services Commissioner (“Commissioner”) for the purpose of meeting the costs incurred by him in discharging his functions under Part V of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999.
The level of the fee varies according to the designated professional body concerned. The different level of fee is designed to reflect the cost of the Commissioner’s regulatory activity referable to each particular body.
The fee specified in this Order covers the period 1st April 2003 to 31st March 2004.
