This Order approves the Veterinary Surgeons and Veterinary Practitioners Registration (Amendment) Regulations 2004 (“the Regulations”), made by the Council of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (“the RCVS”) under section 11 of the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966 (c. 36). It comes into force on 1st April 2005.
The Regulations amend the Veterinary Surgeons and Veterinary Practitioners Registration Regulations 2003 (the "Principal Regulations") by replacing the Schedule (Table of Fees Payable). The Principal Regulations are set out in the Schedule to the Veterinary Surgeons and Veterinary Practitioners (Registration) Regulations Order of Council 2003 (S.I. 2003/3342).
The Principal Regulations regulate the registration of veterinary surgeons and veterinary practitioners and the fees payable for annual registration and retention of names on the Register of the RCVS. The amendment made by the Regulations is to increase the fees payable for annual registration and retention of names on the registers of the RCVS by 6% from 1st April 2005.
