Citation, commencement and interpretation1

This Order may be cited as the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (Transitional Provisions) (Mortgages) Order 2004.

This Order comes into force—

a

for the purposes of article 4, on 29th October 2004;

b

for all other purposes, on 31st October 2004.

In this Order—

  • the Act” means the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000;

  • “an approved person” means a person in relation to whom the Authority has given its approval under section 59 of the Act;

  • “commencement” means 31st October 2004;

  • “an interim approval” means an approval conferred by article 3;

  • “an interim permission” means a Part IV permission conferred by article 2;

  • “the Regulated Activities Order” means the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (Regulated Activities) Order 20012;

  • “the Tribunal” means the Financial Services and Markets Tribunal.
