This Order provides for the attainment targets and programmes of study set out in the document published by the Department for Education and Skills and the QCA “Science, the National Curriculum for England, Key Stages 1-4” (ISBN 1-84478-182-8; order reference DfES/0303/2004) to have effect for the purposes of specifying those elements of the National Curriculum in science for pupils in the first, second, third and fourth key stages at schools in England.
This Order replaces the Education (National Curriculum) (Attainment Targets and Programmes of Study in Science) (England) Order 2000 which is revoked.
This Order is made in consequence of a defect in the Education (National Curriculum) (Attainment Targets and Programmes for Study in Science in respect of the First, Second and Third and Fourth Key Stages) (England) Order 2004 (S.I. 2004/1217) which is revoked by this Order. This Order will be issued free of charge to all known recipients of S.I 2004/1217.
