These Regulations amend the Social Security (Hospital In-Patients) Regulations 1975.
These Regulations amend the amount of benefit payable to a beneficiary’s dependant after the beneficiary has received 52 weeks of free in-patient treatment in a hospital and then has his benefit adjusted so that the first 20% only of the basic pension is payable. They provide that the next 38%, instead of 40%, of the basic pension is not payable and any excess over 58%, instead of 60%, of the basic pension is payable to the dependant.
A regulatory impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as it has no impact on the costs of business.
