Explanatory Note
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order provides for the coming into force of certain provisions of the Care Standards Act 2000 (“the Act”), in so far as they relate to the English Council and are not already in force, as follows—
(a)on 7th March 2003—
sections 55(1), (2)(a) and (4) and 57 of the Act and section 116 of, and paragraph 26(3) of Schedule 4 to, the Act in so far as it relates to appeals under section 68 of the Act; and
(b)on 1st April 2003—
sections 56(1)(a), 58, 59, 60, 64(1)(b), 65, 68, 69 and 104.
The Order also provides for the coming into force of section 42 of the Act (power to extend the application of Part II of the Act) on 1st September 2003.
The provisions are commenced in England only.
