The Secretary of State for Transport in exercise of the powers conferred by section 17(2) and (3) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984(1), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, and after consultation with representative organisations in accordance with section 134(2) of that Act, hereby makes the following Regulations:
1. These Regulations may be cited as the M62 Motorway (City of Liverpool) (Speed Limit) Regulations 2003 and shall come into force on 10th November 2003.
2. No person shall drive any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 50 miles per hour on a length of the westbound carriageway of the M62 Motorway from the boundary of the City of Liverpool to a point 985 metres west of that boundary.

These Regulations impose a 50 miles per hour speed limit on the westbound carriageway of the M62 Motorway from the boundary of the City of Liverpool to a point 985 metres west of that boundary.
1984 (c. 27). Section 17 was amended by the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 (c. 22), Schedule 8, paragraph 28 and Schedule 9 and by the Road Traffic Act 1991 (c. 40), Schedule 4, paragraph 25 and Schedule 8.
