DANGEROUS DRUGS
These Regulations amend the Misuse of Drugs Regulations 2001 (“the 2001 Regulations”). Regulations 2(3), 2(4), 2(5), 2(6) and 2(7) amend regulations 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 to allow extended formulary nurse prescribers, registered nurses and persons authorised under patient group directions to prescribe, supply, possess and administer specified controlled drugs in certain circumstances only. The Schedule to these Regulations, inserts a new Schedule 8, into the 2001 Regulations which details the persons who may supply or administer specified controlled drugs under a patient group direction. Regulation 2(2) inserts further definitions into the 2001 Regulations which are consequential upon the amendments made.
