1. This Order may be cited as the A259 Trunk Road, (Brenzett to M20 Junction 13, Folkestone) (Detrunking) Order 2003 and shall come into force on 30th September 2003.
2. In this Order—
(i)“principal road” as a classification for a highway, means that the highway is a principal road for the purposes of enactments and instruments which refer to highways classified as principal roads and is also classified for the purpose of every other enactment and instrument which refers to highways classified by the Secretary of State; and
(ii)“the trunk road” means the A259 Trunk Road between Brenzett and the M20 at Junction 13, Folkestone.
3. The length of the trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order shall cease to be a trunk road and shall be classified as a principal road from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies Kent County Council that they are to be the highway authority for that length of road within their county boundary.

THE SCHEDULELENGTH OF THE TRUNK ROAD CEASING TO BE A TRUNK ROAD
The length of the A259 trunk road ceasing to be trunk road is situated between the A2070 Brenzett roundabout and the roundabout at junction 13 of the M20 motorway in the District of Shepway in the County of Kent and is shown by broad black dashes on the plan folio numbered HA 10/OD/443 marked “The A259 Trunk Road (Brenzett to M20 Junction 10, Folkestone) (Detrunking) Order 200 and signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Transport and deposited at DfT Records, Management Branch, Floor 13 (IMD), Ashdown House, St Leonards On Sea, Hastings, East Sussex TN37 7GA.
