In exercise of the powers conferred upon the Secretary of State by sections 19(2) and (8) and 24 of the Education Act 2002(1) the Secretary of State for Education and Skills hereby makes the following Regulations:
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Federation of Schools (Community Schools, Community Special Schools, Voluntary Controlled Schools and Maintained Nursery Schools) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2003 and shall come into force on 1st September 2003.
2.—(1) The Federation of Schools (Community Schools, Community Special Schools, Voluntary Controlled Schools and Maintained Nursery Schools) (England) Regulations 2003(2) shall be amended as follows.
(2) In regulation 13(3) omit the word “not”.

These Regulations correct an error in the Federation of Schools (Community Schools, Community Special Schools, Voluntary Controlled Schools and Maintained Nursery Schools) (England) Regulations 2003.
In regulation 13(3) the word “not” is omitted. Regulation 13(3), as amended, provides for a person to be disqualified from election or appointment as a parent governor of a federation if he is an elected member of the local education authority or if he is paid to work at the federation, or at a federated school, for more than 500 hours in any twelve month period commencing on 1st August and finishing on 31st July.
These Regulations shall come into force on 1st September 2003.
