(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order amends the Teacher Training Agency (Additional Functions) (No. 2) Order 2000 (“the 2000 Order”). It amends the definition of “graduate teacher” in that Order to reflect changes made by the Education (School Teachers' Qualifications) (England) Regulations 2003 (S.I. 2003/1662). In addition this Order inserts a new paragraph (e) in article 4 of the 2000 Order. This will enable graduate teachers at independent schools which fall within the terms of that paragraph to receive grants payable under the 2000 Order, if they are undertaking employment-based training with a view to obtaining qualified teacher status.
