Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers in section 2(5) and (6) of the Health Service Commissioners Act 1993(1), is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:
1. This Order may be cited as the Health Service Commissioner for England (Health Protection Agency (Yr Asiantaeth Diogelu Iechyd)) Order 2003 and shall come into force on 9th July 2003.
2. The Health Protection Agency (Yr Asiantaeth Diogelu Iechyd) is hereby designated as a Special Health Authority to which section 2 of the Health Service Commissioners Act 1993 (health service bodies subject to investigation by the Health Service Commissioner) applies.

This Order designates the Health Protection Agency (Yr Asiantaeth Diogelu Iechyd) as a health service body subject to investigation by the Health Service Commissioner under section 2 of the Health Service Commissioners Act 1993.
1993 c. 46; section 2(5) was amended by sections 112 and 152 of, and paragraph 3(3) of Schedule 10 and Part 1 of Schedule 18 to, the Government of Wales Act 1998 (“the 1998 Act”); section 2(6) was substituted by section 112 of, and paragraph 3(4) of Schedule 10 to, the 1998 Act.
