In exercise of the powers conferred upon the Secretary of State by paragraph 2 of Schedule 8 to the Education Act 2002(1) the Secretary of State for Education and Skills hereby makes the following Regulations:
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Education (Additional Secondary School Proposals) (Amendment) Regulations 2003 and shall come into force on 1st July 2003.
2.—(1) The Education (Additional Secondary School Proposals) Regulations 2003(2) shall be amended as follows.
(2) In regulation 12(2) for “by the local education authority” substitute “from the local education authority”.

These Regulations correct an error in the Education (Additional Secondary School Proposals) Regulations 2003 S.I 2003/1200 (“the principal regulations”).
In Regulation 12(2) of the principal regulations “from the local education authority ” should replace “by the local education authority”. Regulation 12(2) as amended requires the school organisation committee to have regard to its duty to forward the proposal to the Secretary of State within six weeks of receipt of the proposals from the local education authority when requesting comments before considering them.
These Regulations shall come into force on 1st July 2003.
