The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 28(3) of the European Parliament (Representation) Act 2003(1), makes the following Order:
Citation
1. This Order may be cited as the European Parliament (Representation) Act 2003 (Commencement No. 2) Order 2003.
Commencement of provisions in European Parliament (Representation) Act 2003
2. The following provisions of the European Parliament (Representation) Act 2003 shall come into force in Gibraltar on 2nd June 2003:
(a)sections 9, 10, 26 and 27; and
(b)section 28(2) so far as it relates to those provisions.

Explanatory Note
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order brings into force in Gibraltar on 2nd June 2003 the provisions of the European Parliament (Representation) Act 2003 relating to the requirement for the Electoral Commission to make a recommendation to the Lord Chancellor as to which of the existing electoral regions in England and Wales should be combined with Gibraltar for the purposes of European Parliamentary elections taking place after 1st April 2004. The same provisions came into force in the United Kingdom on Royal Assent of that Act.
