Explanatory Note
(This note is not part of the Order.)
This Order modifies the Patents Act 1977 in its application to the Isle of Man. It replaces the Patents Act 1977 (Isle of Man) Order 1978 as amended, and makes additional modifications to correspond to the amendments made to the Act (as it has effect in the United Kingdom) by the Supreme Court Act 1981, the Competition Act 1998, the Patents and Trade Marks (World Trade Organisation) Regulations 1999 (S.I. 1999/1899), the Patents Regulations 2000 (S.I. 2000/2037) and the Patents Act 1977 (Electronic Communications) Order 2003 (S.I. 2003/512).
