5. In section 8(2) of the Criminal Procedure (Insanity) Act 1964(1) (interpretation), in the definition of “registered medical practitioner”, after “Medical Act 1983” insert “who holds a licence to practise”.
Section 8 was previously amended by: the Criminal Procedure (Insanity and Unfitness to Plead) Act 1991 (c. 25), sections 7, 8(1)(c) and (3), Schedule 3, paragraph 1 and Schedule 4; and the Mental Health Act 1983 (c. 20), section 148(1) and (2), and Schedule 4, paragraph 18(b).
