The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 52(1) and 60(1)(e) and (1A) of the Public Passenger Vehicles Act 1981(1), and after consultation with representative organisations in accordance with section 61(2) of that Act, hereby makes the following Regulations:—

1981 c. 14. Section 52(1) was amended by the Transport Act 1985 (c. 67, in these footnotes called “the 1985 Act”), Schedule 2, Part II, paragraph 4(14). In section 60, subsection 1(e) was substituted by the Deregulation and Contracting Out Act 1994 (c. 40, in these footnotes called “the 1994 Act”), section 66(5), and subsection (1A) was inserted by the 1985 Act, section 134(2).
