The Secretary of State for Transport in exercise of the powers conferred by section 17(2) and (3) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984(1), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, and after consultation with representative organisations in accordance with section 134(2) of that Act, hereby makes the following Regulations:
1. These Regulations may be cited as The M60 Motorway (Junction 25) (Speed Limit) Regulations 2002 and shall come into force on 21st October 2002.
2.—(1) No person shall drive any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 50 miles per hour on the restricted length of the motorway.
(2) “the restricted length of the motorway” means the clockwise carriageway of the M60 motorway between Marker Post 52.3 and Marker Post 53.5, a total distance of 1.2 kilometres.

These Regulations impose a 50 miles per hour speed limit on the clockwise carriageway of the M60 between Marker Posts 52.3 and 53.5.
1984 c. 27. Section 17 was amended by the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 (c. 22), section 168, Schedule 8, paragraph 28 and Schedule 9 and by the Road Traffic Act 1991 (c. 40), sections 48 and 83, Schedule 4, paragraph 25 and Schedule 8; section 134(2) was amended by the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991, section 168 and Schedule 8, paragraph 77.
