In exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 44 of the Vehicles (Crime) Act 2001(1), the Secretary of State hereby makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Vehicles (Crime) Act 2001 (Commencement No. 3) Order 2002.
2. Save for section 8, Part I of the Vehicles (Crime) Act 2001 (Regulation of Motor Salvage Operators) shall come into force on 21st October 2002.

This Order brings into force all of Part I, save for section 8, of the Vehicles (Crime) Act 2001 on 21st October 2002. Part I provides for the regulation of motor salvage operators by introducing powers to require motor salvage operators to register with local authorities and to keep records.
