The National Health Service Trusts (Dissolution) Order 2002

The Secretary of State for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 126(3) and (4) of the National Health Service Act 1977(1) and by section 5(1) of, and paragraph 29(1) of Schedule 2 to, the National Health Service and Community Care Act 1990(2) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, considering it appropriate in the interests of the health service to make this Order(3), and after completion of the consultation prescribed under paragraph 29(3) of Schedule 2 to the latter Act(4), hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1.  This Order may be cited as the National Health Service Trusts (Dissolution) Order 2002 and shall come into force on 1st April 2002.

Dissolution of NHS trusts

2.  Each of the National Health Service Trusts established by the National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Orders listed in the Schedule to this Order is dissolved and accordingly those Orders are revoked.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order dissolves on 1st April 2002 the National Health Services Trusts established by the National Health Service Trust Orders which are listed in the Schedule. Those Orders are accordingly revoked.
