The A596 Trunk Road (Calva Brow Junction, Workington) Order 2002

The Secretary of State for Transport, Local Government and the Regions makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by section 10 of the Highways Act 1980(1) and now vested in him(2), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf:

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the A596 Trunk Road (Calva Brow Junction, Workington) Order 2002 and shall come into force on 24th May 2002.

(2) In this Order, all measurements of distance are measured along the route of the relevant highway.

2.  The new highway which the Secretary of State proposes to construct along the route described in the Schedule to this Order shall become a trunk road from the date when this order comes into force.

3.  The centre line of the new trunk road is indicated by a heavy black line on the plan numbered HA 10/PS/286 marked “The A596 Trunk Road (Calva Brow Junction, Workington) Order 2002”, signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Transport, Local Government and the Regions and deposited at the Department of Transport, Local Government and the Regions, Deposit Document Service, Floor 13, Ashdown House, St Leonards-on-sea. TN37 3GA.

THE SCHEDULERoute of the New Trunk Road

The route of the new trunk road is approximately 200 metres in length from a point on the A596 Trunk Road 160 metres north west of the existing junction with the C2001 County Road, Calva Brow, Workington in the County of Cumbria to a point 49 metres south east of the same junction.
