8. In rule 1.2(1)—
(a)after the definition of “consent order”, insert—
““Contracting State” means—
one of the original parties to the Council Regulation, that is to say Belgium, Germany, Greece, Spain, France, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Austria, Portugal, Finland, Sweden and the United Kingdom, and
a party which has subsequently adopted the Council Regulation;
“the Council Regulation” means Council Regulation (EC) No. 1347/2000 of 29th May 2000 on jurisdiction and the recognition and enforcement of judgments in matrimonial matters and in matters of parental responsibility for children of both spouses(1);”; and
(b)after the definition of “notice of intention to defend”, insert—
““officer of the service” has the same meaning as in the Criminal Justice and Court Services Act 2000(2);”
