1. This Order may be cited as The A1 Trunk Road (A645 Slip Roads and A162 Slip Roads) (Detrunking) Order 2001 and shall come into force on 13th November 2001.
2. In this Order—
(i)“classified road” as a classification for a highway, means that the highway is not a principal road for the purposes of enactments or instruments which refer to highways classified as principal roads but is a classified road for the purpose of every enactment and instrument which refers to highways classified by the Secretary of State and which does not specifically refer to their classification as principal roads;
(ii)“the Motorway and connecting roads” means the special roads which the Secretary of State is authorised to provide by the A1 Motorway (Ferrybridge to Hook Moor Section and Connecting Roads) Scheme 1999(1);
(iii)“the A1 slip roads” means the A1 slip roads leading to and from the A645 and A162;
(iv)“the plans” means the plans numbered 1 and 2, HA10/PS/321 and marked “The A1 Trunk Road (A645 Slip Roads and A162 Slip Roads) (Detrunking) Order 2001,” signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Transport, Local Government and the Regions and deposited at the DTLR Records Management Branch, Floor 13 (IMD), Ashdown House, St. Leonards On Sea, Hastings, East Sussex TN37 7GA.
3. The A1 Slip Roads described in the Schedule to this Order and shown by broad hatching on the plan shall cease to be trunk road and shall be classified as classified road from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies the North Yorkshire County Council and the Wakefield Metropolitan District Council and that motorway and connecting roads are open for traffic.
