The Education (Grants) (Yehudi Menuhin School) Regulations 2001

In exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by sections 485(a) and 489(1) of the Education Act 1996(1), the Secretary of State for Education and Skills hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1.  The Regulations may be cited as the Education (Grants) (Yehudi Menuhin School) Regulations 2001 and shall come into force on 1st September 2001.

Payment of grant

2.  The Secretary of State may on or before 31st October 2001 pay a grant of such amount as she may determine to the governors of the Yehudi Menuhin School of Stoke d'Abernon, Cobham, Surrey (“the School”) in respect of expenditure to be incurred by them on, or in connection with, the building of the Menuhin Memorial Centre in the grounds of the school.

Conditions of payment

3.  The payment of the grant under these Regulations shall be dependent on the fulfilment of such conditions as may be specified by the Secretary of State.

Requirements to be observed

4.  Where a grant is paid under these Regulations, the governors of the School shall comply with such requirements (including requirements as to the repayment of the grant or the payment to the Secretary of State of other sums representing the value of the premises purchased and refurbished with the aid of grant or interest on sums due to her) as may be specified by the Secretary of State.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations authorise the Secretary of State to pay on or before 31st October 2001 a grant to the governors of the Yehudi Menuhin School of Stoke D'Abernon, Cobham, Surrey, in respect of expenditure to be incurred by them in respect of the building of the Menuhin Memorial Centre in the grounds of the School. Payment is subject to such conditions and requirements as the Secretary of State may specify.
