Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

This Order revokes and replaces the Medicines (Veterinary Drugs) (General Sale List) Order 1984 (S.I. 1984/768).

The Order specifies medicinal products, being veterinary drugs, which can with reasonable safety be sold or supplied otherwise than by or under the supervision of a pharmacist (the general sale list) (article 2 and Schedule). This differs from the previous Order in so far as the previous Order specified certain classes of veterinary drugs by reference to their composition.
