The Secretary of State for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 126(3) of the National Health Service Act 1977(1) and by section 5(1) of, and paragraph 29(1) of Schedule 2 to, the National Health Service and Community Care Act 1990(2) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, considering it appropriate in the interests of the health service to make this Order(3), and after completion of the consultation prescribed under paragraph 29(3) of Schedule 2 to the latter Act(4), hereby makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Essex and Herts Community, the Mid Essex Community and Mental Health, and the North East Essex Mental Health National Health Service Trusts (Dissolution) Order 2001 and shall come into force on 1st April 2001.
2.—(1) The Essex and Herts Community National Health Service Trust established by the Essex and Herts Community National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Order 1994(5) is hereby dissolved, and accordingly that Order is hereby revoked.
(2) The Mid Essex Community and Mental Health National Health Service Trust established by the Mid Essex Community and Mental Health National Service Trust (Establishment) Order 1993(6) is hereby dissolved, and accordingly that Order is hereby revoked.
(3) The North East Essex Mental Health National Health Service Trust established by the North East Essex Mental Health National Service Trust (Establishment) Order 1991(7) is hereby dissolved, and accordingly that Order is hereby revoked.

This Order dissolves on 1st April 2001:
the Essex and Herts Community National Health Service Trust;
the Mid Essex Community and Mental Health National Health Service Trust;
and the North East Essex Mental Health National Health Service Trust.
This Order should be read in conjunction with the North Essex Mental Health Partnership National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Order 2001(8).
