This Order amends the Transport Act 2000 (Commencement No. 3) Order 2001 to omit sections 253, 257 to 260, 265, and 267 of the Transport Act 2000 from the provisions specified in Part I of Schedule 2 to that Order, which are brought into force on 1st February 2001.
Section 253 (which contains transitional arrangements for railways) came into force at Royal Assent (together with Schedule 28).
Sections 257 to 260 and 265 contain provisions relating to driver training and driving instructors and the licensing of private hire vehicles. Section 267 (which contains provisions about appeals relating to London service permits) will still be brought into force in part on 1st February 2001 notwithstanding this Order, in accordance with provisions in Part I of Schedule 3 to the Transport Act 2000 (Commencement No. 3) Order 2001, for the purposes of making regulations.
The Order also amends the transitional provisions in Part II of Schedule 3 relating to the commencement of sections 158 and paragraph 22 of Schedule 11, which amend provisions relating to the repayment of fuel grant duty for unregistered and unreliable local services.
