1. These Regulations may be cited as the Pensions Increase (Scottish Parliamentary Pension Scheme) Regulations 2000, and shall come into force on 30th March 2000, but shall take effect as specified in regulation 3.
2. In these Regulations:
“the 1971 Act” means the Pensions (Increase) Act 1971;
“pension” means a pension within the meaning of the 1971 Act.
3. With effect from 21st December 1999, the 1971 Act shall apply to any pensions payable under the Scottish Parliamentary Pension Scheme(3) as if they were pensions specified in Part II of Schedule 2 to the 1971 Act.

These Regulations apply the provisions of the Pensions (Increase) Act 1971 to any pensions payable under the Scottish Parliamentary Pension Scheme. Under the power conferred by section 5(4) of the Pensions (Increase) Act 1971 the Regulations take effect from 21st December 1999.
By virtue of article 2(1)(c) of the Transfer of Functions (Minister for the Civil Service and Treasury) Order 1981 (S.I. 1981/1670).
The scheme was constituted by the Scotland Act 1998 (Transitory and Transitional Provisions) (Scottish Parliamentary Pension Scheme) Order 1999 (S.I. 1999/1082).
