Explanatory Note
(This note is not part of the Order)
By this Order, the Secretary of State authorises the Sport and Arts joint scheme for the distribution of National Lottery funds by Sport England and the Arts Council of England. A brief description of the nature and purpose of the joint scheme, and other details about it, may be found in the Schedule to this Order. The joint scheme is to participate in the “Space for Sport and Arts” programme, which is to be operated by Sport England and the Arts Council of England in co-operation with other bodies, who will provide part of the funding for the programme as a whole. The programme’s prospectus is available from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, 2 to 4 Cockspur Street, London SW1Y 5DH, or on the Department’s website (www.culture.gov.uk).
