2. The Highways Noise Payment and Moveable Homes (England) Regulations 2000(1) shall be amended as follows:
(a)in regulation 3(1) (power to make noise payments) for the word “shall” there shall be substituted the word “may”;
(b)in regulation 5(1) (limitations on noise payments) for the words “shall be £1,650” there shall be substituted the words “shall not exceed £1,650”.
