The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, being designatedM1 for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972M2 in relation to the common agricultural policy of the European Community, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by the said section 2(2), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, makes the following Regulations:

Citation, commencement and extent1

These Regulations may be cited as the Animals and Animal Products (Import and Export) (England and Wales) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2000 and shall come into force on 28th October 2000.

These Regulations extend to England and Wales.

Amendment of the Animals and Animal Products (Import and Export) (England and Wales) Regulations 20002

In Schedule 3 Part I, paragraph 1, to the Animals and Animal Products (Import and Export) (England and Wales) Regulations 2000 M3 after the words “as amended by Commission Decision 2000/542/EC (OJ No. L231, 13.9.00, p. 12)" there shall be added the following—

“ and Commission Decision 2000/651/EC (OJ No. L272, 25.10.00, p. 46) ”.

These Regulations amend Schedule 3 to the Animals and Animal Products (Import and Export) (England and Wales) Regulations 2000 (S.I. 2000/1673 as amended) so as to implement the requirements of Commission Decision 2000/651/EC amending for the second time Decision 2000/528/EC concerning certain protection measures relating to Classical Swine Fever in the United Kingdom (OJ No. L272, 25.10.00, p. 46). The main effect of the Decision is to remove restrictions on the export of pigs and porcine semen, ova and embryos from Essex.

A regulatory impact assessment has not been made in respect of these Regulations.
