In the exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by sections 21(5) and (6), 35(1), 138(7) and (8) and 144 of, and paragraph 5(2) of Schedule 4, paragraphs 2, 3, 4, and 5 of Schedule 8, and paragraph 1(5) of Schedule 12 to, the School Standards and Framework Act 1998(1) the Secretary of State for Education and Employment hereby makes the following Regulations:
1998 c. 31; by virtue of the National Assembly for Wales (Transfer of Functions) Order 1999 (S.I. 1999/672) as amended by the National Assembly for Wales (Transfer of Functions) (Variation) Order 2000 (S.I. 2000/1829) the powers conferred by these provisions are exercisable by the Secretary of State only in relation to England. For the meaning of “regulations” see section 142(1) of the 1998 Act.
