Whereas the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions considers it appropriate for certain roads in the City of London to be GLA side roads in the interests of the management of traffic and the control of the waiting and loading of vehicles on or in the immediate vicinity of GLA roads:
Now therefore the Secretary of State in exercise of the powers conferred by section 124A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984(1) hereby makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the GLA Side Roads (City of London) Designation Order 2000 and shall come into force on 19th June 2000.
2.—(1) The roads in the City of London specified in the Schedule to this Order are hereby designated as GLA side roads(2).
(2) The description of a road includes the intersection of that road and any other road that crosses it at the same level.
(3) In the Schedule “m” means metres.
(4) In accordance with section 124A(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, 3rd July 2000 is hereby specified as the date on which the designated roads are to become GLA side roads.

Article 2
1. Arthur Street between its junction with King William Street (A3) and the common boundary of 10 Arthur Street and 24 to 27 Martin Lane.
2. Monument Street—
(a)(north side) between its junction with King William Street (A3) and a point 7.5m west of the eastern flank wall of 47 King William Street;
(b)(south side) between its junction with King William Street (A3) and a point opposite the eastern flank wall of 47 King William Street.
3. Cannon Street (south side) between its junction with King William Street (A3) and a point 32m east of the western flank wall of 116 to 126 Cannon Street.
4. King William Street (north side) between its junction with Gracechurch Street and a point opposite the party wall of 69 and 70 King William Street.
5. Alderman’s Walk between its junction with Bishopsgate (A10) and a point 5m west of the frontage of 117 Bishopsgate.
6. Artillery Lane between its junction with Bishopsgate (A10) and a point 2.5m east of the western frontage of 226 Bishopsgate.
7. Brushfield Street—
(a)(south side) between its junction with Bishopsgate (A10) and a point 23m east of the eastern kerbline of Bishopsgate;
(b)(north side) between its junction with Bishopsgate (A10) and a point 21m east of the eastern kerbline of Bishopsgate.
8. Camomile Street—
(a)(north side) between its junction with Bishopsgate (A10) and a point opposite the south west flank wall of 35-37 Camomile Street;
(b)(south side) between its junction with Bishopsgate (A10) and a point 8m west of the party wall of 1-7 and 12-20 Camomile Street.
9. Cornhill between its junction with Bishopsgate (A10) and a point 3m east of the western flank wall of 54 Cornhill.
10. Devonshire Row between its junction with Bishopsgate (A10) and a point 5m south east of the western frontage of 148 Bishopsgate.
11. Eastcheap between its junction with Gracechurch Street and a point 4m to the east of the party wall of 1 and 3 Eastcheap.
12. Fenchurch Street between its junction with Gracechurch Street and a point opposite the eastern flank wall of 1-4 Fenchurch Street.
13. Fish Street Hill between its junction with Eastcheap and a point 13m south of the southern kerbline of Eastcheap.
14. Great St. Helen’s between its junction with Bishopsgate (A10) and a point 5.5m east of the frontage of 42 Bishopsgate.
15. Houndsditch between its junction with Bishopsgate (A10) and a point 6m west of the western flank wall of 87 to 90 Houndsditch.
16. Leadenhall Street between its junction with Bishopsgate (A10) and the western kerbline of Whittington Avenue.
17. Liverpool Street between its junction with Bishopsgate (A10) and a point 2m west of the eastern frontage of 121 Bishopsgate.
18. Lombard Street between its junction with Gracechurch Street (A10) and a point 8m east of the party wall of 38 and 39 Lombard Street.
19. New Street between its junction with Bishopsgate (A10) and a point 5m east of the western frontage of 172 Bishopsgate.
20. Primrose Street (south side) between its junction with Bishopsgate (A10) and a point 4m east of the western flank wall of 1 Primrose Street.
21. Talbot Court between its junction with Gracechurch Street (A10) and a point 5.5m east of the frontage of 55 Gracechurch Street.
22. Threadneedle Street between its junction with Bishopsgate (A10) and a point 2.5m west of the western flank wall of 38 Threadneedle Street.
23. White Hart Court between its junction with Bishopsgate (A10) and a point 5m west of the frontage of 119 Bishopsgate.
24. Wormwood Street—
(a)(north side) between its junction with Bishopsgate (A10) and the party wall of 26 and 27 Wormwood Street;
(b)(south side) between its junction with Bishopsgate (A10) and a point 30m west of the western kerbline of Bishopsgate.
25. Worship Street (south side) between the western kerbline of Norton Folgate (A10) and a point 15m west of that kerbline.
26. Access to Guinness Court between its junction with Mansell Street (A1210) and a point 2m west of the eastern flank wall of 4 Portsoken Street.
27. Little Somerset Street between the western kerbline of Mansell Street (A1210) and a point 5m west of that kerbline.
28. Portsoken Street between the western kerbline of Mansell Street (A1210) and a point 5m west of that kerbline.

Section 272 of the Greater London Authority Act 1999 inserts a new section 124A into the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 whereby the Secretary of State may designate roads or proposed roads which are to be GLA side roads, for which Transport for London will be the traffic authority. This Order designates the roads in the City of London specified in the Schedule as GLA side roads with effect from 3rd July 2000.
