The Housing Renewal Grants (Common Parts) Order 1999

Coming into force
The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, as respects England, and the Secretary of State for Wales, as respects Wales, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by sections 14(2)(d) and 146(1) of the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 19961 and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Order–
Citation and commencement1
This Order may be cited as the Housing Renewal Grants (Common Parts) Order 1999 and shall come into force on 10th February 1999.
Occupying tenants2
For the purposes of section 14(2)(d) of the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996 (common parts grants: occupation of flats by occupying tenants), a condition is specified in relation to a tenancy that it is for a term of years absolute of which not less than five years remain unexpired at the date of the application.
Application3
This Order shall not apply in relation to applications made before this Order comes into force.
