Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order makes provisions for transitory and transitional purposes in connection with the coming into force, on 1st April 1999, of section 64(1) of the Scotland Act 1998, which establishes the Scottish Consolidated Fund. The Order appropriates sums out of sums forming part of the Fund for the financial year ending on 31st March 2000 for the purpose of meeting expenditure in that year in connection with functions for which expenditure will, by virtue of the 1998 Act and provision made under it, be payable out of that Fund during that year. It also appropriates in aid certain sums for the year ending on 31st March 2000 in connection with those purposes.
