The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 13(2) and 200 of the Broadcasting Act 1990(1), after consultation with the Independent Television Commission, hereby makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Broadcasting (Unlicensed Television Services) Exemption (Revocation) Order 1999 and shall come into force on 11th October 1999.
2. The Broadcasting (Unlicensed Television Services) Exemption Order 1994(2) is hereby revoked.

This Order revokes The Broadcasting (Unlicensed Television Services) Exemption Order 1994 which provided that it was not an offence under section 13(1) of the Broadcasting Act 1990 for BBC World Service Television Limited (or any other company controlled by the British Broadcasting Corporation) and European Channel Broadcasting Limited to provide the television news and information service known as “BBC World” and for the latter to provide the television entertainment service known as “BBC Prime” without in either case being authorised to do so by or under a licence under Part I of the Broadcasting Act 1990.
1990 c. 42; section 13 of the Broadcasting Act 1990 was amended by paragraph 2 of Part I of Schedule 10 to the Broadcasting Act 1996 (c. 55.) and by paragraph 2 of the Schedule to the Satellite Television Service Regulations 1997 (S.I. 1997/1682).
