2. After article 21 of the Welfare of Animals (Transport) Order 1997(1) the following article shall be inserted–
“21A. Any person who uses a road vehicle for the transportation of animals to which Article 1 of Council Regulation (EC) No 411/98 on additional animal protection standards applicable to road vehicles used for the carriage of livestock on journeys exceeding eight hours(2) applies in contravention of that Regulation commits an offence against the Animal Health Act 1981.”
