The Railways (Rateable Values) (Amendment) Order 1999

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions as respects England, and the Secretary of State for Wales as respects Wales, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by sections 140(4) and 143(1) and (2) of, and paragraph 3(2) of Schedule 6 to, the Local Government Finance Act 1988(1), and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Order, a draft of which has been laid before, and approved by resolution of, each House of Parliament:

1988 c. 41. Section 143(2) is amended by paragraph 72(2) of Schedule 5 to the Local Government and Housing Act 1989 (c. 42). Paragraph 3(2) of Schedule 6 is amended by paragraph 38(13) of Schedule 5 to that Act. See section 146(6) of the 1988 Act for the definition of “prescribed”. See also S.I. 1994/3121 for the relevant regulations under section 53(2) of the 1988 Act for the purposes of paragraph 3(2) of Schedule 6.
