In exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by sections 244(2) and 569(4) and (5) of the Education Act 1996(1) the Secretary of State for Wales hereby makes the following Regulations:
1996 c. 56. Section 244 applies to grant-maintained special schools and their governing bodies by virtue of regulation 23 of the Education (Grant-maintained Special Schools) Regulations 1994, S.I. 1994/653, as substituted by regulation 11 of the Education (Grant-maintained Special Schools) (Amendment) Regulations 1994, S.I. 1994/1231. For the meaning of “regulations” see section 579(1) of the 1996 Act.
