1.  This Order may be cited as the A40 Trunk Road (Western Avenue, Ealing) (Speed Limits) Order 1998 and shall come into force on 16th February 1998.

2.  In this Order:–;

“Western Avenue” means that length of the A40 trunk road in the London borough of Ealing known as Western Avenue.

“the eastbound exit slip road” means that length of road which links the eastbound carriageway of Western Avenue with the bridge that carries Argyle Road over Western Avenue;

“the eastbound access slip road” means that length of road which links Bideford Avenue with the eastbound carriageway of Western Avenue;

“the westbound exit slip road” means that length of road which links the westbound carriageway of Western Avenue; and

“the westbound access slip road” means that length of road which links Argyle Road with the westbound carriageway of Western Avenue.

3.  No person shall drive a motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 40 miles per hour on the lengths of road specified in Schedule 1 to this Order.

4.  No person shall drive a motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 50 miles per hour on the lengths of road specified in Schedule 2 to this Order.

5.  The Trunk Roads (Speed Limits) (No. 2) Order 1972(1), and article 3 of the Trunk Road (A40) (Western Avenue, Ealing) (Speed Limits) Order 1984(2), are hereby revoked.
