Education development plans and intervention by the Secretary of State

2.  In relation to the period beginning on 1st April 1999 and ending immediately before 1st September 1999—

(a)section 6(2)(a)(i) and (3)(b) of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998 (education development plans), and

(b)sections 497A(1)(b) and 497B(5) of the Education Act 1996 (intervention by the Secretary of State)(1),

shall have effect as if the references (however framed) to schools maintained by the authority included grant-maintained schools and grant-maintained special schools maintained by that authority pursuant to regulation 2 of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998 (Modification) Regulations 1998(2).
