1.  This Instrument may be cited as “the Lancaster City Council (The River Lune Millennium Bridge) Scheme 1998 Confirmation Instrument 1998” and shall come into force on the date on which notice that it has been confirmed is first published in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 2 to the Highways Act 1980.

2.  The Lancashire City Council (River Lune Millennium Bridge) Scheme 1998 (“the Scheme”) is hereby confirmed with modifications.

3.  The Scheme as confirmed is set out in the Schedule hereto (including the plan) and copies of the Scheme with its accompanying plan as modified are deposited at the offices of the Department of the Environment, Transport, and the Regions, Great Minster House, 76 Marsham Street, LONDON SW1P 4DR; at the offices of Lancaster City Council at the Town Hall, Morecambe; and at the Town Hall, Lancaster.
